Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, UP is functioning directly under the State Government. Its important functions are to run and strengthen Medical and Dental Colleges and other Medical/Paramedical diploma, degree, Post Graduate and Super Speciality programs in the State of U.P. The State Government conducts entrance examination for admission to various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Super specialty courses by authorizing any University or Medical College. A Counseling Board constituted by the State Government for this purpose conducts the counseling for allotment of seats. The Director General of Medical Education is the Chairperson of the Counseling Board. The candidates selected through Counseling are issued allotment letters and on production of the allotment letter; the allotted candidates are admitted in the college. They are also required to produce all the original certificates and admit card at the time of admission along with admission fee.
It is the endeavor of the Directorate to have fair and transparent admission process and to impart quality medical education in the State. The directorate is committed to carry out the order of the State Government in true spirit and develop medical education and medical treatment of the highest order in the State of U.P.
